Public spaces is an interesting topic as there are possibilities of different ways of public engagement through graphical design, environmental design, public installations, super-graphics, and navigation design which all encourage interactions within public spaces. The relationship between architecture and graphical design plays a key role to  public spaces as it allows for a new platform that communicates information and a message to its audience.

There are many things to consider when making something for a public space, a designer would need to think about who their audience are, they must think about factors such as noise, accessibility, behaviours, cultural practices, architecture, the current climate, and about how we design when we have to continue social distancing and the real impact it has on public spaces. I want to research into this question so that I can understand the factors that need to be reviewed when thinking about designing for a community or a public space.

Recently I've noticed that there are a lot of signage spreading awareness about the corona virus. Many shops have signs up explaining to keep a 2m distance and one way systems put in place, this makes me wonder whether these designs work and perform what its purpose it is meant to. A lot of these signs are not the most artistically appealing but as long as it is performing what its meant and if it works does that matter?
